Prayer Before Holy Hour

O Jesus, Son of God,* You Who are to bestow Your blessing upon us assembled here, we humbly beg You that it may impart to each and all of us the graces we need. Let Your blessing extend to places far and wide. Let it be felt by the afflicted who cannot come here to receive it personally. Let the weak and the tempted feel its power wherever they may be. Let poor sinners come under its influence prompting them to turn to You. Let it reach the missionaries who work for Your people, whose God You are.

Lord, we humbly beg Your blessing for us here and for all those dear to us, and may it effect that secret purpose for which, O Lord, You always generously impart it. Amen.

Acts of Faith, Hope and Charity

My God, I believe in Thee and all Thy Church doth teach because Thou hast said it, and Thy Word is true.

My God, I hope in Thee, for grace and for glory, because of they promises, Thy mercy and Thy power.

My God, because thou are so good, I love Thee with all my heart, and for Thy sake I love my neighbor as myself.

May the Divine assistance remain always with us. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God rest in peace.

Act of Spiritual Communion
(Prayer of Saint Thomas Aquinas)

Almighty and everlasting God,* behold, I come to the sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I come as one infirm to the physician of life, as one unclean to the fountain of mercy, as one blind to the light of everlasting brightness, as one poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth.

Therefore, I implore the abundance of your measureless bounty to heal my infirmity, wash my uncleanness, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness, that I may receive the Bread of angels, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, with such reverence and humility, with such contrition and devotion, with such purity and faith, with such purpose and intention as may be profitable to my soul's salvation. Grant me, I pray, the grace of receiving not only the sacrament of our Lord's Body and Blood, but also the grace and power of the sacrament.

O most gracious God, grant me to so receive the Body of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, which He took from the Virgin Mary, as to merit to be incorporated into His Mystical Body, and to be numbered among His members. O most loving Father, give me grace to behold forever Your beloved Son with unveiled face, Whom I now propose to receive veiled in the way. Amen.

Soul of My Savior

Soul of my Savior, sanctify my breast, Body of Christ be Thou my Saving Guest; Blood of my Savior bathe me in Thy Tide; wash me ye waters, gushing from His side.

Strength and protection may His Passion be, O Blessed Jesus, hear and answer me; deep in Thy wounds, Lord, hide and shelter me; so shall I never, never part form Thee.

Guard and defend me from the foe malign; in death's drear moments make me only Thine; call me and bid me come to Thee on high, where I may praise Thee with Thy Saints for aye.
